The place where the seeds of change can take root...
When I was young, I believed the only cure for the human condition was something drastically devastating like a zombie apocalypse or an alien invasion. Since that time, I have found reality and become more optimistic, realizing we are capable of unleashing far greater evil and despair on ourselves without the help of distant entities or mythical pandemics. I have also realized that such destruction is not necessary to rid our specie of ignorance and supremacy. Periods of enlightenment and progress have blanketed and reformed our cultures throughout history.
Most of these periods were brought about by trends of mass populations gaining greater access to collective information, which inspires new ways of organizing ourselves around the considerations of a greater portion of that society. The improved process of education, and the broadening of its reach gives birth to innovations in political philosophies, scientific understanding, technological advancement and overall standards of living. Thus, the path of civilization toward what it will eventually become tends to be travelled at an accelerated rate during these times.
I believe this progress is enabled by a greater portion of society being charged with forming and participating at every level in the very structures within that society of which they are a part. With responsibility comes enhanced understanding, leading to an expanding base of knowledge from which to pull from in the pursuit of the next step of society’s evolution. This concept is proven by the utter stagnance of societies ruled by narrow margins of themselves. As fewer people are engaged at the level of concept generation, so narrows the outcome’s potential.
We exist in narrow times, but that must change. Profiteering banksters have polluted our shores, bound our lands to speculation, sickened our waters and robbed us of our truthful media. Systems of allocation have tightened their grip on our resources, becoming a system of suppression and control. Our trusts have been plundered, our livelihoods suffocated, and our voices gaged.
We have become our own solution. Our power is our numbers, our equity is our sweat, and our faith must be in ourselves. Believe not in wealth kept out of reach, or bootstraps that never were, or the perpetual growth of free markets that will at no point tip into our cups, if even a trickle. Believe in you, trust in us, and stand for our more perfect union.
Then what is our next step?
If corporations have been given control of the fate of our futures, then we become the corporation. We incorporate as an alternative to the ones controlling the innovation and markets of today. We form a corporate structure superior to that of the oligarchs, creating better products, more efficiently, and with less negative environmental impact. We run our corporation to the benefit of all parties involved, from labor force to consumer. We structure the ownership and leadership of our corporation around a concept of inclusion, run as a coopted workforce focused on the wellbeing of all members, and beholden to every member.
If politicians have been corrupted, remove and replace them with candidates worthy of our trust and admiration. This means we may be the ones called on to hold these offices. We must not fear our ability to self-govern. With morality as our guide our leadership will be true. Even if we act with pure intention and are ill-equipped, it is far better than the leadership of those who are equipped but act with ill-intention.
If media sows propaganda and confusion, we change our sources of information. We seek out news with substance rather than flashy logos and waxed foreheads. Or better yet, we must investigate and research, and become the media ourselves. Share our voices amongst ourselves and the truth shall set us free.
Once we truly possess and increasing level of control over our future, we must act with humility and remain uncorrupted by the fear of a loss of superiority, or we become that which we rise against today. We collaborate and form the next steps of our society to enable and inspire further progress through inclusion and empowerment, as we willingly concede control to the next wave of able thinkers, knowing it was our purpose all along. This will be our greatest strength, as inclusion becomes more candidates to bare the burdens of leadership while broadening its scope and potential.
There will beno more tenured administrators more focused on halting progress in an attempt to sustain their own heydays, a time when they were actually effective in their post. The influence of capitalists will be localized, becoming just another voice in the diverse choir of voices setting the agenda for future business. Figurehead nitwits will become obsolete and be replaced by forward thinking pioneers, rewriting normalcy with every stroke.
Some will fear this progress, and their perspective will act as a rutter, lending sound direction as we bound forward down our path. Opposition is to be celebrated as it sharpens our collaboration to create lasting progress. This again is our strength as divided mind fold into the coalition of us, further strengthening and broadening our perspective.
Should our coalition stray, we will place within its framework measures to counter corruption, humble superiority, as well as maintain and embolden an empowered and engaged electorate acting as the true drivers of their own fates. As the bank of collective information expands and evolves, it will inspire the ascension of the demos further strengthening the whole of our coalition, allowing for even greater opportunity on an individual level.
Our companies will thrive in an environment of sustainable and stable markets, while being more adequately prepared to face unforeseen circumstance’s call for a swift redirection or evolution in business practices. Our communities will flourish with the backing and leadership of a more capable and self-reliant citizenry, matched by the rise in fluency of representation. Our collective base of knowledge will expand well beyond expectation, utilizing opensource collaboration between diverse circles of concept development. Our media will become a tool to keep the community informed and up to date rather than to narrow opinion, driven by an audience increasingly in search of actual substance over distracting taglines and hyped outrage.
Or we stick with the current status quo. The choice is ours. The responsibility is ours. The blame will be ours. We are the solution.
